Silver climbed above $58 an ounce on Tuesday, rebounding from recent losses as investors assessed the potential resumption of peace negotiations between the US and Iran, which could ease energy-driven inflation risks and reduce concerns about interest rate hikes.
Mediators worked on Monday to bring both sides toward a new ceasefire, while reports pointed to a possible 10-day truce.
However, tensions remained elevated after President Donald Trump warned that Iran would be held responsible for the deaths of three US service members.
Iran-backed Houthi militants also announced a maritime embargo against Saudi Arabia, raising concerns over energy shipments through the Red Sea.
US Treasury yields climbed sharply this week, with markets now pricing in about a 55% chance of a Federal Reserve rate hike in September, up from 51% a day earlier.
