Arabica coffee futures traded around $4 per pound, the lowest in over two weeks, pressured by a softening real while traders kept a close eye on supply in top producer Brazil.
The country’s crop forecasting agency, Conab, raised its total 2025 coffee production estimate by 2.4% to 56.54 million bags, up 4.3% from 2024, marking the third-largest output on record despite an “off-year” in the Arabica biennial cycle.
Robusta production is expected to hit a record 20.8 million bags, while Arabica is projected at 35.8 million bags, down 9.7% due to the negative cycle, droughts, irregular flowering, and smaller beans in Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
Prices are further pressured by a European deforestation law delay and anticipated US shipments following tariff removal, which would help replenish historic low inventories.
Certified Arabica stocks remain historically low, totaling 406,900 bags at the end of November, a 54.96% drop year-to-date.
