Baltic Dry Index at Over 2-Week Low

The Baltic Exchange’s dry bulk index, which tracks rates for vessels transporting dry commodities, retreated for a fourth day on Monday, falling about 0.8% to its lowest since October 10 at 1,976 points, amid decreases across all vessel segments.
The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes such as iron ore and coal, also declined for a fourth day, down 1.2% to 2,838 points; and the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grain, snapped a 14-day rally, falling 0.2% to 1,921 points.
Among smaller vessels, teh supramax index eased 8 points to 1,361 points.
