Colombia Economic Growth Eases In April

Colombia’s leading economic index rose 3.3% year-on-year in April 2026, easing from a 4% increase in March.
Tertiary activities grew 4.6%, slowing from 5.3% in the previous month.
Within the sector, the strongest gains came from public administration and services, up 8.1% after 6.6% in March, and utilities supply, which rose 4.7% after 4.0%.
Other categories, including professional, scientific, technical, administrative, and support activities (1.2% vs 3.4%) and information and communication (1.5% vs 3.4%), expanded at a slower pace.
Secondary activities increased 1.8%, down from 3% in March.
Meanwhile, primary activities contracted 2.4% after a 1.7% expansion in the previous month.
On a month-over-month basis, economic activity rose 0.34%, following a 0.42% increase in March.
