Producer prices in Bulgaria rose 20.9% year-on-year in September 2026, accelerating from 17.4% in August and marking the highest reading since December 2022.
The increase was driven primarily by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, where inflation surged to 26.7% from 13.0%, reflecting intensifying energy-related price pressures.
Manufacturing inflation also edged higher, rising to 10.6% from 10.4%, with stronger increases in chemicals and chemical products (11.2% vs 10.6%), food products (3.0% vs 2.8%), tobacco products (6.8% vs 5.4%), leather and related products (3.8% vs 2.8%), wood and wood products (5.2% vs 3.8%), and electrical equipment (4.0% vs 3.9%).
Meanwhile, mining and quarrying price growth remained elevated but slowed to 69.4% from 97.3%, reflecting a moderation in mining of metal ores (119.8% vs 165.3%) and other mining and quarrying (5.5% vs 5.7%).
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 2.6%, easing from 3.0% in the previous month.
