Bulgaria Current Account at 155.50 EUR Million  
Bulgaria posted a current account surplus of EUR 155.5 million in March of 2019, switching from a EUR 51.3 million deficit in the same month of the previous year. The goods and services account recorded a EUR 49.1 million surplus, compared with a EUR 81.6 million gap a year earlier, as the goods shortfall narrowed sharply to EUR 41.3 million from EUR 187.4 million and the services surplus decreased to EUR 90.4 million from EUR 105.8 million. Also, the primary income account swung to a EUR 22.8 million surplus from a EUR 52.4 million deficit in March of 2018 while the secondary income surplus rose slightly to EUR 83.6 million from EUR 82.7 million. Considering the first quarter of 2019, the current account surplus widened sharply to EUR 654.3 million from EUR 5.7 million in the same period of the prior year.

Considering the first quarter as a whole, the trade deficit narrowed to BGN 264.6 million from BGN 890.2 million in the same period of 2018.

Bulgaria Producer Prices Change at 4.60 percent  
The producer price inflation in Bulgaria rose to a nine-month high of 4.6 percent year-on-year in March 2019 from 3.9 percent in the previous month, as manufacturing prices advanced faster (4.2 percent vs 2.7 percent in February), namely basic metals (7.4 percent vs 2.0 percent). On the other hand, cost of electricity, gas, steam & air conditioning supply increased at a softer pace (7.0 percent vs 8.7 percent) while prices continued to fall for mining & quarrying (-1.9 percent from -3.4 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 0.7 percent, following a 1.8 percent gain in February.
