Bulgaria Producer Prices Jump 17.4% in August

Producer prices in Bulgaria rose 17.4% year-on-year in August 2026, accelerating sharply from a 13.7% increase in July.
Mining and quarrying prices soared to 97.3% from 60.0% in July, driven by sharper increases in metal ore mining (165.3% vs 104.9%) and other mining and quarrying (5.7% vs 5.5%).
Manufacturing inflation also picked up, rising to 10.4% from 8.8%, with stronger increases in basic metals (29.7% vs 25.6%), chemicals and chemical products (10.6% vs 10.3%), paper and paper products (4.1% vs 3.8%), beverages (7.6% vs 5.6%), and textiles (4.0% vs 3.7%).
At the same time, prices in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply climbed to 13.0% from 7.8%, reflecting intensifying energy-related price pressures.
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 3.0% from 0.4% in the previous month.
