Argentina Consumer Confidence Rises Slightly in May

Argentina’s consumer confidence index edged up to 40.14 in May 2026, representing a monthly increase of 1.26%.
Among the sub-indexes, the Macroeconomic Situation component posted the strongest gain, rising 4.46%, followed by Durable Goods and Real Estate, up 0.83%, while the Personal Situation sub-index fell 2.18%.
Regionally, confidence increased across all areas, led by Buenos Aires City with a 6.42% rise, followed by Greater Buenos Aires (0.48%) and the Interior (0.10%).
The Interior continued to post the highest confidence level at 45.39 points, while Greater Buenos Aires remained the lowest at 37 points.
By income level, low-income households recorded a 6.86% increase in confidence, while high-income households posted a 1.68% decline.
Still, high-income households continued to show a higher confidence level overall, at 41.86 points versus 37.94 points for low-income households.
