Turkey Tourist Arrivals Up 4.99% in December

The number of foreign visitors to Turkey increased by 4.99% year-on-year to 2.72 million in December 2025, following a 2.61% rise in the previous month.

Among the top five source countries for the month, arrivals rose from Germany (3.93%), Bulgaria (10.71%), and Russia (9.48%), while declined from Iran (-0.26%) and Georgia (-2.91%).

Istanbul remained the most popular destination, accounting for 54.98% of all foreign tourists, followed by Edirne (12.99%) and Antalya (9.49%).

For the full year of 2025, total foreign arrivals rose by 0.28% to 52.78 million.

Turkey Tourist Arrivals Rise 2.61% in November
The number of foreign visitors to Turkey grew by 2.61% year-on-year to 2.80 million in November 2025, following a 4.32% increase in the previous month. Among the top five source countries, arrivals rose from Russia (13.05%) and Bulgaria (3.27%), while it fell from Germany (-1.13%), Iran (-6.22%), and the United Kingdom (-6.20%). By destination, Istanbul became the most popular over the month, accounting for 52.14% of all foreign tourists, followed by Antalya (14.74%) and Edirne (11.53%). Considering the January to November 2025 period, total foreign arrivals remained largely unchanged from a year earlier, reaching 50.06 million.

The number of foreign visitors to Turkey climbed by 4.3% year-on-year to 5.68 million in October 2025, following a 0.5% increase in the previous month. Among the top five source countries, arrivals grew from Russia (11.4%) and Germany (6.2%), but fell from Iran (-4.6%), the UK (-3.8%), and Bulgaria (-1.8%). By destination, Antalya remained the most popular, accounting for 37.2% of all foreign tourists, followed by Istanbul (32.7%) and Mugla (6.9%). For the January-September period, total foreign arrivals decreased by -0.1% from a year earlier to 47.25 million.
