Turkey Retail Sales Hit 4-Month High

Retail sales in Turkey increased by 15% year-on-year in October 2025, from an upwardly revised 14.9% gain in the previous month.
It marked the strongest growth since June, as sales increased at a faster pace for food, beverages, and tobacco (11.9% vs 11.8% in September), information and communication equipment (15.9% vs 13.1%), cultural and recreational goods (7.8% vs 5.7%), other goods (30.8% vs 30.1%), and trade not in stores, stalls, or markets (4.6% vs 4.5%).
In contrast, sales moderated for automotive fuel (7.4% vs 7.6%), other household equipment (5.4% vs 8.2%), sales via stalls and markets (1.6% vs 13.3%) as well as sales in non-specialized stores (7.9% vs 8.8%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail activity eased sharply to 0.2% from an upwardly revised 2.4% in September, marking the lowest level since July.
