Switzerland Jobless Rate Unchanged at 3.2%

Switzerland’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held steady at 3.2% in February 2026, remaining at its highest level since April 2021.

The number of unemployed persons dropped by 1.2 thousand from a month earlier to 151.1 thousand.

Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, edged down to 3.1% from 3.2%, with the number of young unemployed falling by just 0.2 thousand to 13.5 thousand.

At the same time, reported job vacancies decreased by 0.8 thousand to 48.1 thousand.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate ticked up to 3.0% in February from 2.9% in the previous month.

Switzerland’s non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was unchanged at 2.9% in November 2025, remaining at its highest level since March. The number of unemployed persons increased by 3.6 thousand from a month earlier to 138.9 thousand, the highest in four and a half years. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, held steady at 3.1%, with the number of young unemployed falling by just 0.07 thousand to 13.40 thousand. At the same time, reported job vacancies dropped by 2.3 thousand to 32.7 thousand. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate also stayed unchanged at 3.0% for the third month in a row.

The number of unemployed persons rose by 2.0 thousand from a month earlier to 135.2 thousand. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, measuring job-seekers between 15 and 24 years old, inched down to 3.1% from 3.2%, with the number of young unemployed falling by 0.4 thousand to 13.5 thousand. At the same time, the number of reported job vacancies declined by 2.4 thousand to 35.0 thousand. On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate held steady at 3.0%.
