Swedish Jobless Rate Rises in July

Sweden’s unemployment rate rose to 8% in July 2025 from 7.7% in the same month of the previous year.
The number of unemployed people increased to 20 thousand compared to a year earlier, totaling 474 thousand, while employment decreased by 6 thousand to 5.438 million.
The employment rate fell by 0.4 percentage points to 71.3% and the labor force participation rate declined by 0.2 percentage points to 77.5%.
The average total number of hours worked per week amounted to 102.3 million.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate was 8.7%.
