Swedish Jobless Rate Rises to 7.4%

The unemployment rate in Sweden rose to 7.4% in November 2024, up from 7.1% in the same month of the previous year.
The number of unemployed people increased by 18 thousand to 418 thousand, while employment decreased by 58 thousand to 5.202 million.
The employment rate fell by 0.9 percentage points to 68.3%, while the labor force participation rate dropped by 0.7 percentage points to 73.8%.
The average number of total hours worked in November amounted to 172.1 million per week.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the unemployment rate stood at 8.5%, unchanged from the prior period.
