Sweden Consumer Confidence Improves in August

Sweden’s consumer confidence indicator rose to 91.1 in August 2025 from an upwardly revised 90.8 in the previous month.
Expectations for the general economic outlook over the next year became less pessimistic (-12 vs. -16 in July), while assessments of households’ current financial situation over the past twelve months improved (-3 vs. -5).
Additionally, households increasingly expect unemployment to ease in the coming year (41 vs. 48).
In contrast, expectations regarding households’ own financial situation in the next twelve months deteriorated (8 vs. 11) and attitude towards major purchases in the coming year turned more unfavorable (-20 vs. -17).
