Sweden Construction Sector Back to Expansion

Construction activity in Sweden increased by 2.4% year-on-year in August 2025, recovering from a 4.5% fall in the previous month. This marked the first growth in construction output in three months. Compared to the prior month, construction activity increased by a seasonally adjusted 4.2% in August.

Construction activity in Sweden fell by 4.5% year-on-year in July 2025 from 0.3 drop in the previous month. This marked the sharpest decline in construction output since January, with the construction sector accounting for 9.1% of the total value in the business sector. On a monthly basis, construction output declined by a seasonally adjusted 4.0%, following a 0.9% decrease in May.

Construction activity in Sweden fell by 0.3% year-on-year in June 2025, reversing from a 0.3% growth in the previous month, marking the sharpest decline in construction output since February 2025, with the construction sector accounting for 9.1% of the total value in the business sector. On a monthly basis, construction output declined by a seasonally adjusted 0.1%, following a 0.9% fall in May.
