South Korea’s manufacturing Business Survey Index fell to 78 in October 2026 from 79 in September, indicating a further deterioration in business conditions. However, the financial situation index improved to 83 from 81, while the inventories index declined to 97 from 103. Meanwhile, the Composite Business Sentiment Index rose to 105.6 from 99.5, reflecting improvements in other components. The production index increased to 94 from 89, while the new orders index climbed to 91 from 84. The Composite Business Sentiment Index for the following month’s outlook also improved, rising 1.9 points to 103.0.
