Tourist arrivals in Slovenia climbed by 0.2% year-on-year to nearly 491.2 thousand in April 2026, the lowest level in five months, easing sharply from the 9.7% increase recorded in March.
Domestic tourism increased by 8.3% to 120.2 thousand, while foreign tourist arrivals declined by 2.2% to 371 thousand, driven mainly by declines in visitors from Italy (-21.8%), Austria (-8.5%) and Germany (-7.6%).
Meanwhile, arrivals from Hungary increased 16.9%, while those from Croatia rose 4.3%.
Overnight stays increased by 1.9% to 1,163 thousand, with the highest number of stays recorded for health resorts (1.5%) and mountain resorts (6%).
For the first four months, total arrivals increased by 4.6% to 1,451 thousand, compared to the same period a year earlier.
