Slovenia’s annual inflation rate rose to 3.3% in September 2026, up from 3.0% in August, marking the third consecutive month of accelerating inflation.
The increase was driven primarily by a sharp acceleration in housing and utilities inflation, which rose to 8.8% from 8.1%, while transport inflation increased to 3.6% from 4.7%.
Additional upward pressure came from higher inflation in alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.9% vs. 4.5%), clothing and footwear (0.5% vs. 0.1%), and health (1.6% vs. 1.5%).
Meanwhile, food prices remained in deflation, although the pace of decline moderated to 0.7% from 1.0%.
In contrast, inflation eased for insurance and financial services (3.5% vs. 3.8%), furnishings (0.6% vs. 0.7%), and recreation, sport and culture (3.8% vs. 5.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged down 0.1% in September, following a 0.1% increase in August.
