Slovenia Annual Inflation Edges Up

Slovenia’s annual inflation rate edged up to 3.0% in August 2026, from 2.9% in July.

The acceleration was driven mainly by higher inflation in housing and utilities, which increased to 8.1% from 7.3%, and transport, which rose to 4.7% from 2.6%.

Inflation for insurance and financial services also accelerated, reaching 3.8% from 2.9%.

In contrast, price growth moderated for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.5% vs 4.7%), clothing and footwear (0.1% vs 0.9%), furnishings (0.7% vs 1.3%), health (1.5% vs 2.1%), information and communication (2.0% vs 2.8%), and recreation, sport and culture (5.3% vs 6.3%).

Food prices fell 1.0%, deepening from a 0.4% decline in July.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1%, rebounding from a 0.1% decline in the previous month.

Slovenia Inflation Rate Slows in July
The annual inflation rate in Slovakia slowed to 2.9% in July 2026, easing to the lowest level since March, down from 3.6% in the previous month, reflecting softer price pressures for both goods (2.0% vs 2.9%) and services (4.6% vs 5.0%). Food prices fell 0.4% after rising 0.5% in June, while inflation eased for housing and utilities (4.7% vs 4.9%), transport (2.6% vs 4.7%), healthcare (2.1% vs 5.1%), information and communication (2.8% vs 3.0%), and education services (3.1% vs 3.2%). Restaurant and hotel prices rose at an unchanged pace of 2.7%. Meanwhile, inflation accelerated for recreation, sports and culture (6.3% vs 4.8%), clothing and footwear (0.9% vs 0.0%), furnishings and household equipment (1.3% vs 0.6%), and insurance and financial services (2.5% vs 2.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% in July, the first monthly decline since January, following a 0.9% increase in June. Harmonised inflation slowed to 3% in July from 3.7% in the prior month.

Slovenia Inflation Rate Unchanged in June
Slovakia's annual inflation rate stood at 3.6% in June 2026, unchanged from the previous month. While inflation remained at its highest level since March 2024, price pressures eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.5% vs 0.9% in May), housing and utilities (9.9% vs 10.0%), transport (4.7% vs 5.5%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.9% vs 5.2%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (0.6% vs 1.9%), and personal care, social protection and miscellaneous goods and services (0.9% vs 3.8%). In contrast, prices increased at a faster pace for health (5.1% vs 4.8%), information and communication (3.0% vs 2.5%), recreation, sport and culture (4.8% vs 2.1%), education (3.2% vs 2.7%), restaurants and accommodation services (2.7% vs 2.2%), and insurance and financial services (2.2% vs 2.0%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose to 0.8%, from 0.5% in May. Meanwhile, the harmonized inflation rate edged down to 3.7% in June from 3.8% in the previous month.
