Slovenia Industrial Activity Slows in May

Industrial production in Slovenia eased to 4.2% year-on-year in May 2026, down from 4.4% in the previous month.
Production in electricity, gas and steam supply declined 4.3%, reversing a 1.1% gain in the previous month, while mining and quarrying output contracted further, falling by 36.3% from 35.2%.
In contrast, manufacturing output accelerated to 5.6% from 5%.
By product category, production eased for intermediate products to 1.1% from 2.5%, reflecting a steeper 7.4% decline in energy products, while raw materials output remained unchanged at 3.0%.
Production of investment goods also moderated, increasing 6.3% after an 8.1% rise.
Meanwhile, consumer goods production strengthened to 8.1% from 4.9%, supported by a sharp acceleration in non-durable consumer goods to 15.0% from 5.1%, while consumer durables output slowed its decline to 8.3% from 9.9%.
On a monthly basis, industrial activity rose 0.9% in May, accelerating from 0.3% in the previous month.
