Slovenia Industrial Output Hits Over 1-Year High

Industrial output in Slovenia increased 4.4% year-on-year in April 2026, following a downwardly revised 2.4% rise in the previous month.

This marked the highest reading since August 2024.

Production rebounded in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (1.2% vs -15.8% in March), while manufacturing continued to grow, albeit at a softer pace (4.9% vs 5.2%).

Meanwhile, output in mining and quarrying slumped further to a seven-month low of -35.2%, from -15.9% previously.

By industrial grouping, output rebounded for intermediate goods (2.5% vs -4.4%), while growth slowed for capital goods (8.0% vs 11.2%) and consumer goods (5.0% vs 8.4%).

Within consumer goods, durable goods output fell at a faster pace (-9.9% vs -3.6%), while growth in non-durable goods eased (5.1% vs 10.8%).

On a monthly basis, industrial activity rose 0.3% in April, easing from 4.0% in March.

Industrial production in Slovenia rose by 3.8% year-on-year in March 2026, rebounding sharply from an upwardly revised 3.8% decline in the previous month and marking the first increase in eight months, since July 2025. Production grew for manufacturing (6.4% vs 0.3% in February) while mining and quarrying continued to decline (-12.0% vs -1.1%). Output for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply fell at a softer pace (-14.1% vs -31.9%). By industrial grouping, output rose for capital goods (15.3% vs 8.8%), consumer goods (8.2% vs -1.4%), and non-durable consumer goods (10.8% vs -1.9%), while durable goods fell (-5.1% vs 0.6%). On a monthly basis, industrial activity rose by 4.9% in March.

Slovenia Industrial Output Downturn Eases
Industrial production in Slovenia fell by 2.5% year-on-year in February 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 3.8% drop in the previous month. This marked the softest decline since December, driven largely by a higher output in the manufacturing sector, rising by 1.9% after a 4.2% decrease in January, while contraction in mining production significantly eased (-1.3% vs -16.3%). Conversely, activity in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning sank by 31.9%, reversing a 0.2% gain in the prior month. By industrial groupings, production increased for capital goods (9.1% vs 3.6%) and consumer goods (3.5% vs -11.3%), while intermediate goods output dropped at a faster pace (-10.6% vs -2.4%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity edged down by 0.1% in February, slipping from a downwardly revised 0.4% in the preceding period.
