Slovakia Current Account Deficit Widens in July

Slovakia's current account deficit widened to EUR 1,035.3 million in July 2026 from EUR 575.8 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, marking the largest deficit since December 2024.
The goods account deficit widened to EUR 523.7 million from EUR 204.6 million, while the primary income shortfall increased to EUR 420.8 million from EUR 265.8 million.
In contrast, the services surplus increased to EUR 39.9 million from EUR 30.5 million, while the secondary income deficit narrowed to EUR 130.6 million from EUR 136.0 million.
In the first seven months of the year, the country's current account deficit totaled EUR 2,418.5 million, down from EUR 3,275.3 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
