Industrial production in Romania rose by 0.2% year-on-year in October 2025, the same pace as in the previous month.
Output accelerated in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (6% vs 0.1% in September), mainly in capital goods, consumer durables, and energy.
On the other hand, mining and quarrying declined at a faster pace (-4.2% vs -1.2%), driven by lower output of coal and lignite, crude petroleum and natural gas, and other mining and quarrying.
Additionally, manufacturing production fell by 0.3%, reversing a 0.5% increase in September, as activity decreased in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, chemical products, basic metals, and electrical equipment.
On a monthly basis, industrial output increased by 0.4% in October, slowing from a 1.1% advance in the preceding period.
