Romania Current Account Deficit Shrinks in March

Romania's current account posted a deficit of EUR 2,394 million in March 2026, narrowing from a EUR 2,515 million deficit in the same month a year earlier.
The secondary income shifted to a surplus of EUR 273 million from a deficit of EUR 77 million a year earlier, while the goods account deficit edged down slightly to EUR 2,777 million from EUR 2,785 million.
Meanwhile, the services account surplus decreased to EUR 1,125 million from EUR 1,240 million, and the primary income deficit widened to EUR 1,016 million from EUR 894 million.
For the first quarter of 2026, Romania's current account narrowed to EUR 5,337 million, compared to a deficit of EUR 6,154 million in the same period a year earlier.
