Poland Industrial Output Rises the Most in Over A Year

Poland’s industrial production climbed by 7.4% year-on-year in September 2025, following a 0.7% increase in the previous month.

This marked the sharpest growth in industrial activity since April 2024, mainly driven by a significant rise in manufacturing (8.2% vs 1.1% in August) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (6.3% vs 1.5%).

At the same time, the contraction eased in mining and quarrying (-1.5% vs -2%).

Meanwhile, output fell further for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-3.6% vs -6.6%).

On a monthly basis, industrial production advanced by 16.1% in September, rebounding from a 7.1% drop in the preceding period.

Poland’s industrial output rose 1.5% year-on-year in February 2026, rebounding from a 1.5% decline in the previous month and exceeding market expectations of a 1.3%. Activity growth recovered in manufacturing (0.2% vs -3.2% in January), particularly in food and beverages products, while output climbed in mining and quarrying (19.6% vs 5.5%). Meanwhile, output growth slowed in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning (13.5% vs 18.7%), as well as in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (2.8% vs 3.2%). On a monthly basis, industrial output rose 2.7% in February, picking up from a 6% fall in January.

Poland Industrial Output Unexpectedly Falls
Poland’s industrial output fell by 1.5% year-on-year in January 2026, sharply reversing a 7.3% rise in the previous month and missing market expectations of a 2.4% gain. Activity declined in the manufacturing sector (-3.2% vs 7.9% in December 2025). At the same time, output growth slowed in mining and quarrying (5.5% vs 7%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (3.2% vs 10.9%). Meanwhile, output recovered sharply in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning (18.7% vs -2.6%). On a monthly basis, industrial output dropped by 6% in January, following a 0.1% decline in the preceding period.

Poland Industrial Output Exceeds Forecasts
Poland’s industrial output surged by 7.3% year-on-year in December 2025, rebounding from a 1.1% fall in the previous month, and surpassing market expectations of a 2.9% gain. Output recovered in the manufacturing sector (7.8% vs -1.4% in November), while activity increased in mining and quarrying (8.7% vs 4.5%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (11.3% vs 3.4%). At the same time, deceleration softened for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning (-2.1% vs -2.7%). On a monthly basis, industrial output fell by 0.1% in December, easing from a -9.3% decline in the preceding period.
