Norway House Price Slows in September

House prices in Norway rose 0.3% month-on-month in September 2026, slightly easing from a 0.8% rise in the previous month.
Residential sales totaled 10,491 units, 5.8% less than a year earlier, while 10,904 homes were listed for sale, down 4.2% year-on-year.
The average selling time decreased to 48 days from 50 days in August, with homes selling fastest in Bergen (15 days) and slowest in Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg (91 days).
Regionally, Ålesund recorded the strongest monthly price growth at 1.9%.
In contrast, Fredrikstad/Sarpsborg and Kristiansand and surrounding areas recorded the weakest price development, declining by 0.2%.
On an annual basis, house prices rose 2.4%, slowing slightly from 2.4% in August.
For the January–September 2026 period, prices were 4.2% higher than in the corresponding period of 2025.
