The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands rose to 3.7% in October 2026, picking up from 3.4% in September, according to preliminary estimates.
This marked the highest reading since April 2025, driven partly by accelerating energy inflation, including motor fuels, which increased to 14.4% from 13.8%, amid surging global energy prices.
Inflation for industrial goods excluding energy and motor fuels also accelerated to 1.9% from 1.5%.
Meanwhile, services inflation remained unchanged at 3.9%.
Food, beverages, and tobacco prices fell 0.6% year-on-year, following a 1.2% decline in September.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices are likely to increase by 0.7%, following a 0.1% gain in September.
The index for consumption abroad rose 8.6%, accelerating from 7.7% previously.
HICP-based annual inflation also increased to 3.3% in October from 3.0% in September.
