Netherlands Inflation Quickens to 3.4%

The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands rose to 3.4% in September 2026, the highest reading since May, picking up from 3.3% in August, according to preliminary estimates.
Price growth accelerated for energy, including motor fuels, rising to 13.9% from 11.6%, as global energy costs remained elevated amid persistent Middle East tensions.
Services inflation also increased to 3.9% from 3.7%, while inflation for industrial goods excluding energy and motor fuels edged up to 1.5% from 1.4%.
Meanwhile, prices for food, beverages, and tobacco fell 1.2%, deepening the 0.5% decline in August.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices are likely to grow 0.1% in September, following a 0.3% gain in August.
The index for consumption abroad rose 7.7% year-on-year, accelerating from 7.4% previously.
HICP-based annual inflation rose to 3.0% in September from 2.8% in the prior period.
