Malta’s Retail Price Index (RPI) measures monthly changes in the cost of a representative basket of goods and services purchased by private households, providing an indicator of consumer price inflation. Transport & communication (22.1%) and Food (21.5%) are the two largest components, together accounting for around 43.6% of the overall basket. They are followed by Recreation & culture, including education (9.9%), Personal care & health (8.8%), and Housing (7.9%).
