Malaysia Jobless Rate Holds at Lowest Level Since 2015

Malaysia’s unemployment rate declined to 3.0% in September 2025 from 3.2% a year earlier, marking its lowest level since April 2015 for the fourth consecutive month.
The number of unemployed persons fell 5.5% year-on-year to a more than six-year low of 518.6 thousand, while employment rose 3.1% to a record high of 17.03 million.
Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate increased to 70.9%, maintaining a record peak, from 70.5% in the same month a year earlier
