Malaysia Q1 FDI Lowest in 3 Quarters

Malaysia's foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows decreased to MYR 15.57 billion in Q1 of 2025 from MYR 18.68 billion in Q4, marking the lowest amount since Q2 2024.
Most of the FDI flowed into the services sector, largely within financial activities and information & communication subsectors.
This was followed by mining & quarrying and construction.
The major sources of FDI were Singapore, Hong Kong, and Germany.
In 2024, foreign direct investment inflows increased to MYR 51.53 billion from MYR MYR 38.62 billion in the previous year.
