Standard Chartered MNI Kenya Business Sentiment
The Standard Chartered MNI Kenya Business Sentiment Survey is a monthly poll of business executives in Kenya, including companies listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange. Companies are a mix of manufacturing, agriculture, construction and service sector companies. The survey provides the first snapshot of economic and business conditions, ahead of official data in Kenya. Respondents are asked a series of questions on their perceptions of current conditions and the outlook over the next quarter. A diffusion indicator is then calculated by adding the percentage share of positive responses to half the percentage of those respondents reporting no change. An indicator reading above 50 shows expansion, below 50 indicates contraction and a result of 50 means no change. Series which show a seasonal pattern are seasonally adjusted.
