Portugal Retail Sales Rise the Most Since 2022

Retail sales in Portugal increased 6% year-on-year in December 2024, the most since April 2022, following a downwardly revised 5.5% gain in November.

Sales rose more for non-food products (6.3% vs 5%) but rose slightly less for food, drinks and tobacco (5.6% vs 6.3%).

Compared to the previous month, retail sales were up 0.7%, after a downwardly revised 0.2% gain in November.
