Estonia Producer Inflation Slows in August

Estonia’s producer prices rose by 3.3% year-on-year in August 2026, easing from 3.5% in the previous month.

Price growth slowed in mining and quarrying (3.4% vs 4.7% in July), while it declined in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, falling sharply by 13.8% from 8.4% previously.

Meanwhile, producer prices in manufacturing accelerated to 4.8% from 3.5%, driven mainly by higher prices for beverages, leather and related products, wood and wood products, paper and paper products, coke and refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, other non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, and machinery and equipment n.e.c.

Costs in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities remained unchanged at 3.4%.

On a monthly basis, producer prices advanced 1.4%, rebounding from a 0.6% drop in the previous month.

Estonia’s producer prices rose by 3.5% year-on-year in July 2026, easing from a five-month high of 3.8% in the previous month. Price growth slowed in mining and quarrying (4.7% vs 8.8% in June) and in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning, where it moderated sharply to 8.4% from 24.9% previously. Meanwhile, producer prices in manufacturing accelerated to 3.5% from 2.6%, driven mainly by higher prices for wearing apparel, wood and wood products, paper and paper products, coke and refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products, rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products, and computer, electronic and optical products. Costs in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities also accelerated to 3.4% from 2.5% in June. On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 0.6%, following a 0.3% drop in the previous month.

Estonia Producer Inflation at 5-Month High
Producer prices in Estonia rose by 3.8% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from a 2.7% increase in the previous month. This marked the sixth consecutive month of growth and the fastest pace since January, driven largely by a 24.9% surge (vs -5.8% in May) in prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. Manufacturing costs (2.6% vs 3.3%) also continued to increase as prices for the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (30.2% vs 52.6%) remained sharply higher, alongside pharmaceutical products (at 8.8%) and rubber and plastic products (7.8%). Additionally, price growth rose faster for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (2.5% vs 2.1%). In contrast, deflation persisted for food production (-3.5% vs -2.9%), textiles (-4.3% vs -5.6%), and repair of machinery and equipment (-3% vs -2.5%). On a monthly basis, producer prices fell by 0.3% in June, reversing a 1.1% gain in May.
