Estonia Producer Prices at 7-Month High

Estonian producer prices fell by 0.5% year-on-year in December 2025, reversing from a seven-month high of 1.1% in the previous month. Producer inflation eased for mining and quarrying (2.6% vs 6.3% in November), while manufacturing costs stalled after a 0.2% rise, driven mainly by falling prices in the manufacture of fuel oils and in electricity and heat energy production. At the same time, prices declined sharply for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-8.2% vs 10.7%). In contrast, costs held steady for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (1.8%). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 1.1% in December, marking a six-month low and following a 0.2% increase in the preceding period.

Estonian producer prices rose by 1.1% year-on-year in November 2025 from 0.6% in the previous month. This marked the highest reading since April, as costs increased sharply in mining and quarrying (6.3% vs 3.5% in October). At the same time, prices recovered for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (10.7% vs -1%). In contrast, costs decreased for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (1.8% vs 2.7%) and manufacturing (0.2% vs 0.6%). Within manufacturing, prices were weighed down by lower costs for food products, beverages, leather and related products, and wood and wood products. On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 0.2% in November, slowing from 0.3% in the preceding period.

Estonian producer prices edged up by 0.6% year-on-year in October 2025 from 0.5% in the previous month, marking the highest in six months. Costs increased more sharply in mining and quarrying (3.5% vs 3.2% in September), while remaining steady for water supply (2.7%) and manufacturing (0.6%). Within manufacturing, prices were pushed up by higher costs for wood and wood products, food, and fabricated metal products, partially offset by declines in fuel oils, paper and paper products, and electronic equipment. At the same time, the contraction in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning eased slightly (-1.0% vs -1.1%). On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 0.3% in October, easing from 0.5% in September.
