Denmark Retail Sales Accelerates in July

Retail sales in Denmark rose 6.7% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from a 4.6% increase in the previous month and marking the strongest growth since March 2026.
Sales grew at a faster pace for consumer electronics (17.1% vs 16.5% in June), household equipment, furniture, and building materials (11.8% vs 9.3%), supermarkets, department stores, and specialized grocery stores (3.9% vs 1.6%), cultural and leisure products (16.7% vs 14.5%), and pharmaceuticals and personal care products (6.8% vs 4.8%).
Moreover, sales declined at a slower pace for liquid fuel filling stations (-14.7% vs -17.1%).
On the other hand, growth moderated for clothing, footwear, and jewelry (12.2% vs 12.6%) and second-hand goods (10.3% vs 12.0%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, retail sales increased 1.3%, accelerating from a revised 0.2% rise in the previous month.
