Danish Inflation Rate Eases to 2.1% in October

Denmark’s annual inflation rate eased to 2.1% in October 2025 from 2.3% in September.

Inflation moderated for housing and utilities (1.5% vs 1.6%), transport (1.5% vs 2.0%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.5% vs 5.3%), and recreation and culture (2.3% vs 3.0%).

Meanwhile, inflation accelerated for restaurants and hotels (2.5% vs 1.8%), communication (4.7% vs 4.1%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (1.6% vs 0.9%), and rebounded for furnishings, household equipment, and maintenance (1.2% vs -0.1%).

Health inflation remained steady at 1.1%, while prices for clothing and footwear continued to fall (-0.8%).

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.4% in October, the first increase in three months, rebounding from a 0.1% decline in September.

Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, edged up to 2.3% from 2.2% in the previous month.

Denmark Inflation Rises to 4-Month High
The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 1.4% in April 2026, the highest level in four months, from 1.2% in the previous month. Transportation costs increased at a faster pace (3.3% vs 2.2% in March), led by rising fuel prices linked to the Middle East conflict, particularly diesel (32.5% vs 18.3%) and petrol (14.6% vs 9.0%). Food inflation also picked up (2.7% vs 1.8%), while housing and utility costs were unchanged after a 0.3% fall in March. Meanwhile, price growth softened mainly in information and communication (4.0% vs 4.5%), recreation, sport and culture (0.7% vs 2.2%), and personal care and miscellaneous goods and services (2.1% vs 2.2%), while prices for restaurants and hotels declined (-0.9% vs 1.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2%, after showing no growth in March. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, eased slightly to 1.6% in April, the lowest level since March 2025, from 1.7% in the prior month.

Denmark Inflation Rises to 1.2% in March
The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 1.2% in March 2026 from a twenty-two-month low of 0.7% in the previous month. Prices accelerated mainly in the transport group, rising 2.2% after a 0.8% drop in February, driven by sharply higher fuel costs, particularly diesel (18.3% vs -5.2%) and petrol (9% vs -5.6%). Costs also increased for information and communication (4.5% vs 3.1%) and restaurants and accommodation services (1.4% vs 1.3%), while inflation remained steady in education (4.5%) and financial services and insurance (2.6%). Meanwhile, price growth eased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.8% vs 2.6%) and recreation, sport and culture (2.2% vs 3.3%), while housing and utilities continued to decline (-0.3% vs -0.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in March, following a 1% gain in the prior period. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, slowed slightly to 1.7%, the lowest since May 2025, from 1.8% in February.

Denmark Inflation Eases Further
Denmark’s annual inflation rate edged down to 0.7% in February 2026 from 0.8% in January, marking the lowest level since April 2024. Price growth slowed mainly for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.6% vs 3.8% in January), restaurants and hotels (1.3% vs 1.4%), and information and communication (3.1% vs 3.5%). Housing and utility costs continued to fall, albeit at a softer pace (-0.9% vs -1.3%), while transportation costs declined further (-0.8% vs -0.2%). On the other hand, inflation rose for leisure, sports, and culture (3.3% vs 1.9%) and personal care and miscellaneous goods and services (2.6% vs 2.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 1%, rebounding from a 0.6% drop in the previous month. Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, eased slightly to 1.8% in February, the lowest since May 2025, from 1.9% in January.
