The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 1.4% in April 2026, the highest level in four months, from 1.2% in the previous month.
Transportation costs increased at a faster pace (3.3% vs 2.2% in March), led by rising fuel prices linked to the Middle East conflict, particularly diesel (32.5% vs 18.3%) and petrol (14.6% vs 9.0%).
Food inflation also picked up (2.7% vs 1.8%), while housing and utility costs were unchanged after a 0.3% fall in March.
Meanwhile, price growth softened mainly in information and communication (4.0% vs 4.5%), recreation, sport and culture (0.7% vs 2.2%), and personal care and miscellaneous goods and services (2.1% vs 2.2%), while prices for restaurants and hotels declined (-0.9% vs 1.4%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2%, after showing no growth in March.
Core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, eased slightly to 1.6% in April, the lowest level since March 2025, from 1.7% in the prior month.
