The annual inflation rate in the Czech Republic rose to 1.5% in June 2026, confirming initial estimates and slowing from 2.1% in the previous month.
This marked the lowest reading since February, driven largely by declines in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (-3.4% vs -1.9% in May) and clothing and footwear (-2.7% vs -2.5%).
At the same time, inflation softened for transport (5.7% vs 9.4%), information and communication (1.9% vs 2.5%), and recreation, sport and culture (2.7% vs 3%).
In contrast, costs increased at a faster pace for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (4.3% vs 3.7%), furnishings, household equipment and routine maintenance (1.3% vs 1.1%), and health (3.4% vs 2.8%), while inflation remained steady for housing and utilities (at 1.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.3% in June, marking the first decline in four months and reversing a 0.1% gain in the preceding period.
