Czech Republic Current Account Surplus Narrows in November

The Czech Republic current account surplus narrowed to CZK 8.16 billion in November 2025 from CZK 9.55 billion in the corresponding month last year, coming in slightly below market expectations of CZK 8.7 billion.

This marked the third consecutive month of a positive reading, albeit at a softer pace, as the goods account surplus shrank to CZK 32.97 billion from CZK 40.89 billion in November 2024.

At the same time, the secondary income deficit widened to CZK 9.93 billion from CZK 7.33 billion.

Meanwhile, the services account swung to a surplus of CZK 7.51 billion, reversing a CZK 1.10 billion deficit a year earlier, while the primary income deficit narrowed slightly to CZK 22.39 billion from CZK 22.91 billion.

The Czech Republic current account surplus narrowed to CZK 8.51 billion in December 2025 from CZK 14.07 billion a year earlier, marking the fourth consecutive month of a surplus. The services account surplus fell to CZK 7.76 billion from CZK 9.46 billion in December 2024, while the primary income account deficit widened sharply to CZK 26.61 billion from CZK 13.02 billion. Meanwhile, the goods account surplus increased to CZK 27.30 billion from CZK 23.71 billion, and the secondary income account swung into a surplus of CZK 0.1 billion from a deficit of CZK 6.08 billion. For the full year 2025, the country recorded a surplus of CZK 57.84 billion, down from CZK 140.51 billion last year.

Czech Republic Current Account Surplus Widens in October
The Czech Republic current account surplus widened to CZK 16.83 billion in October 2025 from CZK 11.73 billion recorded in the same month of the previous year. This improvement was driven in a larger goods account surplus, which expanded to CZK 42.58 billion from CZK 31.35 billion in October 2024. In addition, the services surplus narrowed to CZK 1.27 billion from CZK 4.67 billion a year earlier. At the same time, the secondary income balance showed an improvement, as the deficit narrowed to CZK 3.20 billion from CZK 5.97 billion in the corresponding month last year. Meanwhile, the primary income balance widened to CZK 23.82 billion from CZK 18.32 billion in October 2024. For the January-October period, the current account reached CZK 41.17 billion, compared with CZK 116.89 billion a year earlier.
