Czech Republic Current Account Shifts to Deficit

The Czech Republic current account shifted to a deficit of CZK 0.67 billion in August 2025, compared with a CZK 13.81 billion surplus in the same month of the previous year.
The goods account surplus narrowed sharply, shrinking to CZK 11.80 billion from CZK 27.11 billion a year earlier, alongside the services surplus, which decreased to CZK 8.69 billion from CZK 8.85 billion.
In addition, the secondary income deficit widened to CZK 6.44 billion from CZK 5.48 billion.
Meanwhile, the primary income deficit fell to CZK 14.72 billion from CZK 16.68 billion in August 2024.
