Czechia Business Confidence at 5-Month High

The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic rose to 100.4 in March 2026 from 99.8 in February, marking the highest level since October 2025.

Confidence strengthened in the industry sector, where the indicator climbed to a five-month high of 99.5 from 97.5 in the previous month.

Sentiment also improved in the trade sector, rising to 98.2 from 96.8, its strongest reading in six months.

In contrast, business morale weakened in the construction sector, falling to 113.8 from 116.1, while sentiment in selected services softened slightly, edging down to 100.3 from 100.9 in the prior month.

The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic stood at 100.4 in April 2026, unchanged from the previous month and remaining at its highest level since October 2025. Confidence strengthened in the construction sector, where the indicator climbed to 115.5 from 113.8 in March. Sentiment also improved in selected services, rising to 102.9 from 100.3, its strongest reading in three months. On the other hand, gains were partially offset by weaker business morale in the industry sector, which fell to 97.1 from 99.5, while sentiment in the trade sector deteriorated to a ten-month low of 95 from 98.2 in the prior month.

Czechia Business Confidence Improves in February
The business confidence indicator in the Czech Republic rose to 99.8 in February 2026 from 98.6 in the previous month. Most key sectors saw positive momentum, led by the industrial sector, where confidence increased sharply to 97.5 from 92, supported by a rise in finished product inventories, while optimism in the construction sector also strengthened to 116.1 from 112. In addition, the trade sector remained stable at 96.8, unchanged from January. On the other hand, sentiment in selected services fell to a ten-month low, slipping to 100.9 from 104.2, reflecting heightened concerns among service providers.
