Soybean futures were trading around $10.10 a bushel, recovering slightly from a six-week low of $10.09 on September 24, after Argentina reimposed export taxes on grains, intensifying competition in the global market.
The decision followed a two-day suspension of the taxes, which allowed Chinese buyers to secure about 1.3 million tons of Argentine soybeans, delivering a setback to US farmers.
The market remains under pressure as China increasingly turns to South American supplies amid ongoing trade tensions with Washington.
Meanwhile, the US Department of Agriculture reported net soybean export sales of 724,500 metric tons for the 2025/26 marketing year, above analysts’ expectations of 600,000 to 1.6 million tons.
