US natural gas futures eased to $3.44/MMBtu on Thursday, halting a five-day winning streak and retreating from a 10-week high of near $3.50 on Wednesday.
Traders awaited the EIA storage report, expected to show an injection of about 66 bcf, highlighting robust US production.
Also, LNG feedgas flows fell to a six-week low due to reduced flows at Venture Global’s Calcasieu plant in Louisiana.
Meanwhile, average output in the Lower 48 dipped to 107.4 bcfd in September from a record 108.3 bcfd in August.
Strong output earlier this year has left storage about 6% above seasonal norms.
Demand remains subdued with forecasts for warmer-than-usual weather through mid-October.
