Arabica coffee futures traded around $2.86 per pound, holding close to lowest since early March, pressured by the gradual arrival of the Brazilian harvest and the improved perception of global supply.
However, dealers noted that the pace of trading remains moderate, with producers monitoring weather, prices, exchange rates and margins before moving forward with sales.
According to information from Climatempo, dry weather conditions prevail in the main producing regions between the Southeast and Bahia.
This scenario favors the progress of fieldwork, but keeps attention focused on moisture levels in the crops.
Meanwhile, the geopolitical turmoil continues to impact costs and logistical security, creating a climate of great uncertainty and increasing volatility.
The International Coffee Organisation (ICO) said recently that rising fertilizer prices linked to geopolitical tensions pose a risk of pushing up costs for coffee growers worldwide and could impact production.
