The capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes such as iron ore and coal, also increased for the fourth session, surging 6.3% to 2,732 points; and the panamax index, which usually carries 60,000-70,000 tons of coal or grain, rose 2.3% to its highest since mid-December to 1,606 points.
Among smaller vessels, the supramax index went up 13 points to 996 points.
