Colombia Industrial Confidence Improves

Colombia’s industrial confidence indicator rose by 2.8 percentage points to -0.1% in June 2026, marking its strongest reading since February.

The improvement was driven by a 12.9 percentage point increase in production expectations for the next quarter and a 1.7 percentage point decline in inventory levels, partly offset by a 6.2 percentage point drop in current order volumes.

Compared with June 2025, the industrial confidence indicator declined by 1.6 percentage points.

Colombia’s industrial confidence indicator rose 6.2 percentage points to 6.1% in July 2026 from the previous month, marking its strongest reading since October 2025 and the first positive reading since February. The monthly improvement was driven by a 7.3-point increase in production expectations for the next quarter to 37.7%, a 6.7-point decline in inventories to -6.7%, and a 4.6-point increase in the current volume of orders to -26.2%. However, compared with July 2025, the industrial confidence indicator declined 0.6 percentage points.

Colombia’s industrial confidence indicator fell by 1.0 percentage point month-over-month to -2.9% in May 2026, signaling weaker sentiment in the manufacturing sector. The decline was mainly driven by a 4.2 percentage points increase in inventory levels and a 2.1 percentage points drop in production expectations for the next quarter. These negative factors were partly offset by a 3.1 percentage points increase in current order volumes. Compared with May 2025, industrial confidence deteriorated by 9.0 percentage points.
