Chile Jobless Rate Hits 8.9% in March-May, Matches Forecasts

Chile’s unemployment rate rose to 8.9% in the March–May 2025 period, up from 8.3% in the same period a year ago, in line with analysts' estimates.
This was the highest level recorded since the quarter through May 2024, as the number of unemployed soared by 8.5% to 918 thousand.
Meanwhile, employed rose by just 0.2% to around 9.35 million, and the workforce increased by 0.8% to around 10.3 million.
