Chile Producer Inflation Slows in November

Producer prices in Chile rose by 12.8% year-on-year in December 2025, marking the fastest increase since July 2024 and accelerating from an 8.9% rise in November. Prices increased more sharply in mining (22.8% versus 14.6%) and utilities (11.5% versus 11.1%) while manufacturing cost continued to decline (-0.8% versus -0.1%). Compared to the previous month, producer prices increased by 3.8%, primarily driven by the mining sector (6.9% versus -1.3%), particularly due to a 7% increase in copper prices. Additionally, prices sped up for manufacturing (0.1% versus -0.7%), supported by the manufacture of other fabricated metal products (4.6% versus -2.3%), while utilities inflation slowed (0.6% versus 1%), mainly due to a deceleration in water collection, treatment, and distribution prices (1.5% versus 4.7%).

Producer prices in Chile increased 8.9% year-on-year in November 2025, the least in three months, compared to 9.7% in October. Prices for manufacturing declined (-0.1% vs 1.8%) and a slowdown was seen in cost for mining (14.6% vs 14.7%) and utilities (11.1% vs 11.5%). Compared to the previous month, producer prices were down 0.8%, led by a 0.8% fall in the mining sector (-1.3%), particularly copper (-1%). Manufacturing also declined 0.7% led by manufacture of wood pulp, paper and cardboard (-2.3%). On the other hand, prices for utilities rose 1%, mainly water collection, treatment and distribution (4.7%).

Chile’s producer prices rose 9.7% year-on-year in October 2025, up from 9.5% in September and marking the fastest increase since January. Mining inflation accelerated to 14.7% from 12.1%, supported by a 14.5% jump in copper prices. Utilities inflation slowed sharply to 11.5% from 21.2%, while manufacturing inflation eased to 1.8% from 2.1%. On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 3.5%, following a 1.7% rise in the prior month.
