Construction output in Bulgaria rose 0.6% year-on-year in December 2025, slowing from a downwardly revised 3% increase in the previous month.
This marked the weakest growth since February 2024, as activity expanded at a softer pace in civil engineering works (3.5% vs 8% in November), while specialized construction activities contracted sharply (-3.9% vs -0.4%).
In contrast, building construction grew slightly faster (2.6% vs 2.5%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output fell 2.3%, reversing a 0.8% rise in November.
The decline was driven by lower output in specialized construction activities (-3.9%), civil engineering works (-2.9%), and building construction (-0.4%).
